If you're building a high-performance Windsor-style engine, starting with a strong foundation is key. This Ford Racing BOSS 351 cylinder block is designed to be the core of your next project, offering a robust platform for serious power. It's engineered to replace the legendary BOSS 302 and 351 blocks, drawing on both production and racing technology to deliver exceptional capability.

Ford Racing cast this block from diesel-grade iron, adding material in critical areas to ensure it's significantly stronger than any original Ford OE block. This well-built block preserves many dimensions and features of the original 289-351 blocks, making it a direct replacement for vehicles originally equipped with a Windsor engine. It retains the original clutch cross shaft pivot hole, oil filter location, motor mount bosses, and bell housing pattern, simplifying installation. The 9.2-inch deck height is ideal for projects aiming for larger displacements, with a rough bore capacity of 3.990-3.995 inches and a finished bore capacity of 4.125 inches.

For a complete build, Ford Racing recommends specific components. You'll need special length 1/2-inch head bolts (M-6065-BOSS) or head studs (M-6014-BOSS), along with compatible cylinder heads like the M-6049-X306/307/Z304DA. Head gaskets such as the M-6051-S331 or M-6051-CP331 are also recommended. A separate service replacement plug and dowel kit (M-6026-A) is available, which includes O-ring threaded plugs and black anodized aluminum plugs for oil galleys, water drains, and core holes, plus dowels for the front cover, clutch housing, and cylinder heads. This block also fits factory oil pans with a custom oil pick-up tube (M-6622-BOSS302).
