Product Details
Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealer is a chemical repair treatment for head gasket failures, cracked cylinder heads, and warped blocks — the cooling system failures that usually mean a major engine-out repair bill. The sodium silicate-based formula is added directly to the cooling system, where it is drawn into the breach by coolant flow and heat, then hardens in place to form a permanent seal. One 16 oz bottle is the complete treatment for a single cooling system application.
Application requires draining and flushing the cooling system to remove all antifreeze before adding Blue Devil — the formula is not compatible with mixed antifreeze/water coolant. After draining and flushing with plain water, pour the full bottle into the radiator, refill with the specified ratio of water, and run the engine at operating temperature for 50 continuous minutes with the heater set to hot and the blower on high. This circulates the formula throughout the coolant passages under the conditions — temperature and pressure — that most completely activate the seal. After treatment, drain again and refill with your normal coolant mixture.
Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealer works on gasoline and diesel engines. It is not formulated for engines with wet-sleeve cylinder liners. If the engine has a cracked aluminum block or head, the formula will seal it the same way it seals a gasket failure — but no chemical sealer can repair a structurally compromised engine block that has fractured significantly. Blue Devil is a sealer, not a patch for catastrophic mechanical damage.

blown headgasket
I have a 1991 Toyota Pick-up with 277000 miles. About 4 months ago I let the radiator over heat and blew the head gasket. The estimate was over $1400 plus I needed a new radiator. I drove for four months with the oil pan half full of oil and half full of water unable to drive over 35 mph for about 10 miles before over heating and having to refill the radiator. A Fly fishing buddy told me about his truck with same problem I had and how "Blue Devil" fixed his truck. I did 2 treatments of Blue Devil Head Gasket repair, Changing the oil, oil filter and flushing the radiator each time because of the oily foam that had formed from the mixing of the oil and water. On the second treatment done on the nest day all I did was add the "Blue Devil" Pour and Go and now the truck runs cooler than ever. Now I'm ready to try the "Blue Devil" Oil Leak Stop.
