If you're looking to tune the automatic transmission in your 2017 or newer GM vehicle with an 8-speed or 10-speed transmission, you'll need to get the T87A Transmission Control Module (TCM) unlocked. This service from HP Tuners handles that process. You'll send your existing TCM to them, and they'll perform the unlock service, returning it ready for custom tuning.
This is an 'unlock only' service, meaning they'll upgrade your current TCM to enable tuning capabilities. The original programming for your vehicle's VIN will remain. The process typically takes 1-3 business days once they receive your module, not including shipping time. Once unlocked, you won't need to perform an IMMO Relearn or a Crank Relearn, and you can skip the 'Replace TCM' function in VCM Scanner on the stock module.
Keep in mind that this service is not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California. If you need your TCM programmed to a different VIN, you'll need to select their 'Upgrade & Program' option instead.
