ICON 10-14 Ford Raptor RXT System

ICON built the RXT system specifically for the first-generation Raptor, and it starts where the factory suspension leaves off. The centerpiece is a new rear shock design that solves the two biggest limitations of the stock setup: limited up-travel and heat fade during sustained high-speed desert running.

RXT 3.0 Rear Bypass Shocks

ICON had to develop an entirely new shock to make the RXT system work. A unique side-mount eyelet approach allowed engineers to create a shock that is shorter when collapsed and longer at full extension, fitting the factory mounting location while delivering significantly more rear wheel travel. The bypass valving gives you position-sensitive damping -- soft in the middle of the stroke for comfort, progressively firmer at the extremes to prevent bottoming or topping out.

Dual Hose Recirculating Reservoir

This is the feature that separates the RXT from other Raptor suspension options. The dual hose recirculating reservoir uses a check valve that allows hot fluid in the shock body to exchange with cooler fluid in the reservoir. During extended high-speed off-road runs -- exactly what Raptors were built for -- this keeps the shocks operating at lower temperatures for longer. Shock fade from overheated fluid is what makes a truck feel soft and uncontrolled after a few hard miles. The recirculating design pushes that fade point significantly further out.

Complete System Approach

The RXT is not a shock swap. It is a system that reconfigures the rear suspension to handle the increased travel and forces. ICON matched all the components to work together so the truck stays balanced front to rear, whether you are running across open desert or picking your way through rocks.
