For primarily on-road use with occasional off-road trips, Stage 2 may be sufficient.

Can I start with Stage 2 and add the Delta Joint UCAs later?

ICON's Stage 3 takes everything in the Stage 2 Raptor system and adds upper control arms with the patented Delta Joint. The Delta Joint is the link between the control arm and the knuckle, and it is where most of the suspension's articulation happens. Getting that joint right changes how the entire front end behaves -- and ICON spent serious development time making sure the Delta Joint handles the Raptor's demands.

Delta Joint Upper Control Arms

Most aftermarket UCAs use uniballs at the pivot point. Uniballs articulate freely, but they are exposed to dirt, water, and road debris. Over time, that exposure wears them out, especially on a truck that sees regular off-road use. ICON's Delta Joint combines the articulation range of a uniball with the durability of a sealed ball joint. A zinc plated housing resists corrosion, a grease seal keeps contaminants out, and the metal-on-metal construction is greaseable for extended service life. The result is a joint that moves freely, stays quiet, and lasts.

Building on Stage 2

Stage 3 includes everything from Stage 2 -- hydraulic bump stops with clamshell frame bracing and 2.5-inch remote reservoir shocks. The UCAs are the addition that pushes the system further. With the Delta Joint providing full articulation without bind, the front suspension can use its complete travel range under all conditions. On a Raptor that sees real off-road miles, that means the front end tracks better over rough terrain and wears through suspension components more slowly.

Matched System

Every component in the Stage 3 system is tested and tuned together. The shock valving accounts for the changed geometry from the new UCAs. The bump stops are calibrated for the total available travel. The springs work with the shock valving for a balanced ride. This is what sets a system apart from buying individual components and bolting them on -- everything is matched.
