The 6061-T6 aluminum intake tube in this Injen RD Series cold air intake is mandrel-bent, meaning it has a smooth, consistent inner diameter. This design helps the engine breathe easier by eliminating restrictions that a stock intake might have, allowing for improved airflow into the engine. This is particularly beneficial for turbocharged Subarus like your 2002-2007 Impreza WRX or 2004 STI, where getting the densest air possible can make a real difference.

This intake is designed to pull cooler, denser air from behind the front bumper, which can lead to noticeable gains in horsepower and torque. Injen dyno-tested this system and found it can add up to 24.4 horsepower and 24 lb-ft of torque. They've also ensured that the air-fuel ratios remain safe throughout the powerband, so you don't need to worry about additional tuning for basic operation. The kit includes a serviceable SuperNano-Web dry air filter that offers good filtration and increased surface area for better airflow. You'll also notice a more aggressive, throaty engine tone when you step on the gas.

This particular intake is finished in a durable black powder coat for a clean look under the hood. It's important to note that while this intake fits 2002-2007 Impreza WRX and 2004 STI models, its CARB certification is only for 2002-2004 models.
