The proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design is a key feature here. It uses a reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin to cut down on friction and power loss, while also saving weight. Depending on the specific application, you might also find an accumulator groove, which helps manage combustion gas pressure to prevent ring flutter and keep your rings sealing consistently. Some applications also include a skirt coating that further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which can also lead to a quieter engine operation.
