This set of eight pistons is specifically made for the 302 Small Block Ford (SBF) engine, featuring a -22cc dish volume and a 4.040-inch bore. These pistons are forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for engines pushed to their limits in performance applications.

JE Pistons uses a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin, saving weight in the process. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, reducing ring flutter and improving ring seal for more consistent power delivery.
