This set of eight pistons is specifically made for the 4.6 3V Modular engine, aiming for a 9.5:1 compression ratio. They are engineered, forged, and machined entirely in the USA using 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for high-demand performance applications.

These pistons feature JE Pistons' proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design. This design helps minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help reduce combustion gas pressure, preventing ring flutter and improving ring seal for consistent power delivery. Some applications also feature a skirt coating designed to reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which can also help lower operating noise.
