This set of 8 pistons is specifically designed for the 4.6 4V MOD engine with a 8.5:1 compression ratio, using a 3.562-inch bore size. They are forged and machined 100% in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, making it well-suited for high-demand performance builds.

These pistons feature JE Pistons' proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width. This design, along with a shorter wrist pin, also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may include an accumulator groove to reduce combustion gas pressure, which helps prevent ring flutter and improves ring seal for consistent power delivery. A skirt coating, also application-dependent, further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation.
