This set of eight pistons is specifically made for the 4.6 4V Modular engine, featuring an 8.5:1 compression ratio. They are forged and machined entirely in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for high-demand performance applications.

These pistons incorporate JE Pistons' proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design. This design helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also feature an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, reducing ring flutter and improving ring seal for more consistent power delivery. Some applications also include a skirt coating designed to reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which can also help lower operating noise.
