This set features a .150 inch dome, a 4.130 inch bore, and utilizes JE Pistons' proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design. The FSR forging minimizes friction and power loss by reducing skirt width and uses a shorter wrist pin to save additional weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, reducing ring flutter and improving ring seal for consistent power delivery. A skirt coating, also application-dependent, further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation.
