JE Pistons 400 SBC .165 DOME Set of 8 Pistons

This is a set of eight forged pistons from JE Pistons, designed for a 400 SBC engine. You get the pistons themselves, ready to be installed in your build. These pistons feature a .165 inch dome and are made for a 4.145 inch bore. They use a 0.927 inch wrist pin and have a 1.062 inch compression distance. JE Pistons has been making forged racing pistons for over 75 years, and these are engineered and forged right here in the USA.

These pistons are forged from 2618 aluminum, which gives them the high tensile strength needed for demanding performance applications. They incorporate JE Pistons' proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin, saving weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, improving ring seal and reducing ring flutter. Some applications also feature a skirt coating that can reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which also helps to quiet down the engine's operating noise.
