JE Pistons 400 SBC .165 DOME Set of 8 Pistons

JE Pistons is known for its forged racing pistons, bringing over 75 years of experience to domestic engine builds. This set of eight pistons is specifically made for a 400 SBC engine, featuring a .165 dome and a 4.155-inch bore. These pistons are engineered to give you the best combination of durability and performance, whether you're hitting the drag strip or building a serious street machine.

Crafted from 2618 aluminum, these pistons are forged and machined entirely in the USA, giving them the strong tensile strength needed for high-demand performance applications. They incorporate JE's proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by reducing skirt width and using a shorter wrist pin to save weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to reduce combustion gas pressure, preventing ring flutter and improving ring seal for consistent power. A skirt coating, if included for your application, further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which also helps lower operating noise.

This kit includes eight pistons, each with a 4.155-inch bore, a 1.062-inch compression distance, and a 0.927-inch pin. The dome volume is 5.6 cc, and they are designed as a flat-top piston. Please note that these pistons are not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
