If you're building a high-performance 400 small-block Chevrolet engine, getting the right pistons is crucial for durability and power. This set of eight pistons from JE Pistons is forged from 2618 aluminum, a material known for its high tensile strength, making it well-suited for the demands of performance applications. They are designed specifically for the 400 SBC engine to optimize performance and longevity.

JE Pistons brings over 75 years of experience to their forged pistons, and these are no exception. They feature a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, also saving weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to reduce combustion gas pressure, which helps prevent ring flutter and improves ring seal for consistent power delivery. Some applications also feature a skirt coating that reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, leading to quieter operation and longer life. This set includes pistons with a .165 dome volume and a 4.165-inch bore. Please note that these pistons are not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California. For a complete build, ensure you have all necessary supporting components like rings and pins, which are often sold separately.
