This set features their proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width. This design also saves weight by using a shorter wrist pin. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help reduce combustion gas pressure, which can prevent ring flutter and improve ring seal for more consistent power. Some applications also get a skirt coating that further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, leading to quieter operation and longer life.
