If you're rebuilding a high-performance 400 SBC engine, getting the right pistons is crucial for durability and power. They're forged and machined right here in the USA, using 2618 aluminum, which gives them the strong tensile strength needed for high-stress engine builds.

JE Pistons has been around for over 75 years, and they've put that experience into these pistons. They feature a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design that helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons might also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, leading to better ring seal and more consistent power. Some applications also come with a skirt coating that cuts down on friction and wear between the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also making the engine run a bit quieter.
