JE Pistons 400 SBC .460 DOME Set of 8 Pistons

This is a set of eight JE Pistons designed for a 400 SBC engine. You get the pistons themselves, ready for installation in your build. These pistons feature a .460 dome, a 4.125 inch bore, a 1.187 inch compression distance, and a 0.927 inch wrist pin. They are forged from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for engines pushed to their limits.

JE Pistons has been making performance pistons for over 75 years, and these are forged and machined right here in the USA. They use a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width. This design also saves weight by using a shorter wrist pin. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help reduce combustion gas pressure, preventing ring flutter and improving ring seal for more consistent power. Some applications also feature a skirt coating that further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which can also help quiet down the engine's operation.
