JE Pistons 400 SBC .460 DOME Set of 8 Pistons

This is a set of eight JE Pistons designed for a 400 SBC engine, featuring a .460 dome. You get the pistons themselves, ready for installation in your build. These pistons are forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for engines that see a lot of demand and high performance applications. JE Pistons has been making forged racing pistons for over 75 years, and they apply that experience to create parts that are built to last and perform.

JE Pistons uses a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design. This design helps minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons might also include an accumulator groove, which helps manage combustion gas pressure to reduce ring flutter and improve the seal for consistent power. Some applications also feature a skirt coating that works to reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which can also help quiet down the engine's operation. Each piston is designed specifically for the engine and its intended use, aiming for an optimized balance of performance and durability.

This set is designed for a 4.145 inch bore with a 1.187 compression distance and uses a 0.927 inch pin. The dome volume is 12.9 cc. Please note that these pistons are not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California. They are also subject to California's Proposition 65 warning.
