This set features a .500 dome and is designed for a 4.125 inch bore with a 1.250 inch compression distance and a 0.927 inch pin. They incorporate JE's proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by reducing skirt width and using a shorter wrist pin, saving weight in the process. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help reduce combustion gas pressure, improving ring seal and preventing ring flutter. Some applications also feature a skirt coating that reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which can also help quiet down engine noise.
