JE Pistons 400 SBC .500 DOME Set of 8 Pistons

This set of eight pistons is specifically made for a 400 SBC engine, featuring a .500 dome to help achieve your desired compression ratio. They are forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for engines built for high-demand performance applications.

These pistons incorporate JE Pistons' proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design. This design helps minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin, saving weight in the process. Depending on the specific application, an accumulator groove may be included to help manage combustion gas pressure, which can reduce ring flutter and improve ring seal for more consistent power delivery. Some applications also feature a skirt coating that further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also contributing to quieter operation.
