Built from 2618 aluminum, these JE Pistons are forged in the USA to handle the demands of a high-performance 400 SBC engine. The 4.165-inch bore size and -12cc dome volume are specific to certain engine builds, aiming for a particular compression ratio when paired with your cylinder heads. JE Pistons has been making forged pistons for over 75 years, and they engineer these sets for specific engines and racing applications to give you a solid combination of durability and performance.

These pistons feature JE's proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which uses a reduced skirt width to minimize friction and power loss, while also saving weight with a shorter wrist pin. Depending on the specific application, they may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, reducing ring flutter and improving the seal for consistent power. Some applications also get a skirt coating to further reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which can also help quiet down engine noise.
