JE Pistons 400 SBC DOME -12 Set of 8 Pistons

This set of eight 400 SBC DOME -12 pistons is a prime example of their commitment to durability and performance, engineered and forged 100% in the USA. They are built using 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is essential for engines operating under high-demand performance conditions.

These pistons feature JE Pistons' proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design. This design minimizes friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width, and further saves weight with a shorter wrist pin. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help reduce pressure from combustion gases, which can prevent ring flutter and improve ring seal for more consistent power delivery. A skirt coating, also application-dependent, is used to reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also helping to lower operating noise. Each piston is designed specifically for the 400 SBC engine and its intended use, optimizing both performance and durability.

This set includes eight pistons with a 4.155-inch bore, a 1.125-inch compression distance, and a 0.927-inch pin. Please note that this part is not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California. It is also subject to California's Proposition 65 warning.
