JE Pistons 400 SBC DOME 18DEG Set of 8 Pistons

This is a set of eight JE Pistons designed for a 400 SBC engine with an 18-degree cylinder head configuration. You get the pistons themselves, ready to be installed in your build. These pistons are forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for engines pushed to their limits in racing or high-performance street applications.

JE Pistons has been making performance pistons for over 75 years, and they apply that experience to designs like these. They feature a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design. This means they have reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin, which helps minimize friction and power loss while also saving weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, leading to better ring seal and consistent power delivery. Some applications also get a skirt coating that further reduces friction and wear on the cylinder walls, which can also help quiet down engine noise.

These pistons are made to fit a 4.165-inch bore and have a 1.000-inch compression distance, with a 0.927-inch wrist pin. It's important to note that this kit is not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
