JE Pistons is known for making well-built forged racing pistons, drawing on over 75 years of experience. They've applied that knowledge to this set of 8 pistons for a 400 SBC engine, designed for high-demand performance applications. These pistons are forged and machined entirely in the USA using 2618 aluminum, which gives them the strong tensile strength needed for serious builds.

This set features a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design. This means they have a reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin, which helps minimize friction and power loss while also saving weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help control combustion gas pressure, leading to better ring seal and more consistent power. A skirt coating, if included for your application, further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation.

Each piston is specifically designed for the 400 SBC engine and its intended use, aiming for an optimal balance of performance and durability. The bore size is 4.155 inches, with a compression distance of 1.125 inches and a pin diameter of 0.927 inches.
