This is a set of eight JE Pistons, specifically designed for a 400 SBC engine with an 18-degree cylinder head configuration. You'll receive the pistons themselves, ready for installation into your performance build. These pistons are forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for engines pushed to their limits. They feature a dome design and are built to a 4.125-inch bore size, with a 1.100-inch compression distance and a 0.927-inch wrist pin diameter.

JE Pistons brings over 75 years of experience to their forged piston line, and these are no exception. They incorporate a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin, saving weight in the process. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, reducing ring flutter and improving ring seal for more consistent power delivery. Some applications also feature a skirt coating that further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation.
