These pistons are forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for engines that see demanding use. JE Pistons uses a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design that helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also feature an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, leading to better ring seal and more consistent power delivery. Some applications also include a skirt coating that works to reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also contributing to quieter operation. Each piston is designed specifically for the 454 BBC engine and its intended use, aiming for an optimal balance of performance and durability.

This set includes eight pistons, each with a .350 dome and designed for a 4.600-inch bore. The pin diameter is 0.990 inches, and the compression distance is 1.120 inches.
