JE Pistons 454 BBC NITROUS DOME Set of 8 Pistons

This is a set of eight JE Pistons, specifically designed for a 454 BBC (Big Block Chevrolet) engine, featuring a Nitrous Dome profile. These pistons are forged from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, making it well-suited for high-demand performance applications. They are made 100% in the USA, reflecting over 75 years of JE Pistons' experience in creating forged racing pistons.

Each piston in this set incorporates JE Pistons' proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design. This design helps minimize friction and power loss by reducing skirt width and using a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, reducing ring flutter and improving ring seal for more consistent power delivery. A skirt coating, also application-dependent, is used to reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation.

This kit is configured for a 4.625 inch bore with a 1.270 inch compression distance and a 0.990 inch wrist pin. It's important to note that these pistons are not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
