JE Pistons 454BBC FT -3cc Set of 8 Pistons

This kit includes a set of eight JE Pistons, specifically designed for 454 BBC engines with a 4.600 inch bore. These are flat-top pistons with a -3cc volume, meaning they will sit flush with the deck of the block when installed, contributing to a specific compression ratio. JE Pistons has been making forged racing pistons for over 75 years, and these are forged and machined entirely in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for engines under heavy load.

JE Pistons uses a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design. This means the piston skirts are narrower and shorter, which helps reduce friction and power loss while also saving weight. Some applications also include an accumulator groove, which can help manage combustion gas pressure, reduce ring flutter, and improve the seal for consistent power delivery. If your application includes a skirt coating, it's there to further reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which can also lead to quieter operation. These pistons are engineered for each specific engine and racing application to give you the best combination of durability and performance.
