This set of eight pistons is specifically made for the 5.4 4V Modular engine, offering an 8.5:1 compression ratio. They are engineered, forged, and machined entirely in the USA, using 2618 aluminum, which provides the strong tensile strength needed for high-demand performance applications. These pistons are designed for each specific engine and use, aiming for the best combination of durability and performance.

This piston set features JE Pistons' proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design. This design helps minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove. This groove helps reduce pressure from combustion gases, which can lessen ring fluttering and improve ring seal for more consistent power delivery. Some applications also feature a skirt coating designed to reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also helping to lower operating noise.
