JE Pistons has been a leader in forged racing pistons for over 75 years, and they apply that experience to their domestic engine components. This set of eight pistons is engineered, forged, and machined entirely in the USA, using 2618 aluminum. This material choice is crucial because it offers the high tensile strength needed for engines that demand peak performance and durability, like those found in racing applications.

These pistons feature a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design. This means they have reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin, which helps minimize friction and power loss while also saving weight. Depending on the specific engine application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove. This groove helps manage combustion gas pressure, reducing ring flutter and improving the ring seal for more consistent power delivery. Some applications also benefit from a skirt coating that further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which can also lead to quieter operation.
