They feature a 4.660-inch bore and a 23cc dome, designed specifically for the Chevrolet BBC SR20 engine. This material choice offers the high tensile strength needed to withstand the rigors of performance builds.
JE Pistons applies its 75 years of experience to create pistons that balance durability and performance. The proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design helps minimize friction and power loss by reducing skirt width, while also saving weight with a shorter wrist pin. Depending on the specific application, a skirt coating can further reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, leading to quieter operation. An accumulator groove, also application-dependent, can help reduce combustion gas pressure, preventing ring flutter and improving ring seal for consistent power delivery.
