This set features JE Pistons' proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design. This design helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, preventing ring flutter and improving ring seal for consistent power. A skirt coating, also application-dependent, further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also helping to quiet down operation. The 4.500-inch bore size and .420 dome volume are designed for optimal performance and durability in high-demand engines.

This piston kit includes eight pistons, each with a 4.500-inch bore, a 1.270-inch compression distance, and a 0.990-inch pin diameter. The dome volume is 37.0 cc. Please note that these pistons are not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California. They are also subject to Prop 65 warnings.
