JE Pistons BBC .470 DOME Set of 8 Pistons

This is a set of eight JE Pistons BBC .470 Dome pistons, designed for high-performance Big Block Chevrolet engines. You get the pistons themselves, ready to be installed in your build. These pistons are forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for engines pushed to their limits in racing applications.

JE Pistons has been making forged racing pistons for over 75 years, and they've applied that experience to this set. They feature a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, saving weight in the process. Depending on the specific application, these pistons might also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, reducing ring flutter and improving ring seal for more consistent power delivery. Some applications also benefit from a skirt coating that cuts down on friction and wear, while also making the engine run a bit quieter.
