JE Pistons BBC APBA DOME Set of 8 Pistons

This is a set of eight JE Pistons BBC APBA Dome pistons, designed for high-performance applications. You get the pistons themselves, ready to be installed in your engine. These pistons are forged in the USA using 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for engines that demand a lot of power and durability. JE Pistons has been making performance parts for over 75 years, and they apply that experience to create pistons specifically for each engine and racing use, aiming for the best balance of toughness and performance.

JE Pistons uses a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design. This design helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons might also include an accumulator groove. This groove helps manage combustion gas pressure, which can reduce ring flutter and improve the seal of the piston rings, leading to more consistent power output. Some applications also feature a skirt coating that further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also helping to quiet down the engine's operation.

This particular set is for an 8-cylinder engine with a 4.625-inch bore and a 1.120-inch compression distance. The dome volume is 28.9 cubic centimeters. It's important to note that these pistons are not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
