This set features a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which uses a reduced skirt width to minimize friction and power loss, while a shorter wrist pin further saves weight. Depending on the specific application, you might find an accumulator groove, designed to reduce combustion gas pressure, prevent ring flutter, and improve ring seal for consistent power delivery. Some applications also include a skirt coating that helps cut down on friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which also contributes to quieter operation.
