JE Pistons BBC FT HD/BLOWN Set of 8 Pistons

If you're building a high-performance big block Chevrolet engine, especially one intended for heavy-duty use or forced induction like a blower, a strong set of pistons is crucial. These JE Pistons are forged from 2618 aluminum, a material known for its high tensile strength, making it well-suited for the demanding conditions of boosted or high-stress racing applications. They are designed specifically for this type of engine and use, aiming for a balance of durability and performance.

JE Pistons has been in the forged piston game for over 75 years, and these are made entirely in the USA. They feature a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin, also saving weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, reducing ring flutter and improving the seal for consistent power. Some applications also get a skirt coating to further reduce friction and wear on the cylinder walls, which can also lead to quieter operation.

This set includes eight pistons, each with a flat top design and a -3.0 cc dish. They are designed for a 4.600-inch bore with a 1.270-inch compression distance and a 0.990-inch wrist pin. Keep in mind these are not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California. For serious engine builds, these pistons offer a well-built foundation.
