These pistons are forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material known for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for engines under heavy stress. JE Pistons uses a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by reducing skirt width. This design also allows for a shorter wrist pin, saving additional weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also feature an accumulator groove to reduce combustion gas pressure, preventing ring flutter and improving ring seal for consistent power delivery.
