This set features a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design. This design helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, you might also find an accumulator groove, which helps manage combustion gas pressure to prevent ring flutter and improve ring seal for consistent power. Some applications also include a skirt coating that further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also helping to quiet down operation.
