These pistons are specifically crafted for the BMW B48 2.0T engine, featuring an 83.00mm bore and a -12.3cc inverted dome/dish design. Forged from 2618 aluminum, these pistons offer the high tensile strength needed for engines pushed beyond stock limits. JE Pistons uses a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by reducing skirt width and using a shorter wrist pin for added weight savings. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also feature an accumulator groove to help reduce combustion gas pressure, preventing ring flutter and improving ring seal for consistent power delivery. A skirt coating, also application-dependent, further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation.
