This set features JE's proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, saving weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to manage combustion gas pressure, improving ring seal and keeping power consistent. Some applications also feature a skirt coating to further reduce friction and wear on the cylinder walls, which also helps quiet down engine noise.
