The proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design is a notable feature, minimizing friction and power loss by reducing skirt width and saving weight with a shorter wrist pin. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help reduce combustion gas pressure, which can improve ring seal and prevent ring flutter. A skirt coating, also application-dependent, further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation and longer life.
