This specific piston is built for the Ford GT350's Voodoo 5.2L Modular engine. This piston is forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, which gives it the high tensile strength needed for demanding use. It features a 3.701 inch bore and a dish volume of -8.9cc, aiming for a 12.5:1 compression ratio. JE Pistons also uses a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by reducing skirt width and using a shorter wrist pin. Depending on the application, a skirt coating can further reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also cutting down on operating noise. An accumulator groove, also application-dependent, can help manage combustion gas pressure, reducing ring flutter and improving ring seal for consistent power delivery.
