These pistons are forged in the USA using 2618 aluminum, which gives them the strong tensile strength needed for high-demand performance. They feature JE's proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, saving weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help reduce combustion gas pressure, improving ring seal and preventing ring flutter. A skirt coating, also application-dependent, further reduces friction and wear on the cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation.
