They feature a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design that helps reduce friction and power loss by using a shorter wrist pin and reduced skirt width. Depending on the specific application, you might also find an accumulator groove, which helps manage combustion gas pressure to keep the rings seated properly and maintain a good seal. Some applications also include a skirt coating to further reduce friction and wear, which can also help quiet down the engine's operation.
