They feature JE's proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, also saving weight. Depending on the specific application, you might also find an accumulator groove to help control combustion gas pressure, leading to better ring seal and consistent power. Some applications also include a skirt coating that cuts down on friction and wear, while also making the engine run quieter.
