These pistons are made from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for handling the demands of performance engines. This set features an inverted dome/dish design and a 4.128-inch bore size, with a 1.163-inch compression distance and a 0.927-inch wrist pin diameter. JE Pistons incorporates a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design, which helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, also saving weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, improving ring seal and maintaining consistent power.
