Forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, this JE Pistons single piston is built for high tensile strength, crucial for demanding performance builds. JE Pistons has been making forged racing pistons for over 75 years, and they engineer each piston specifically for the engine and intended use, aiming for a balance of durability and performance. This particular piston is designed for the Mazda 1.8L BP engine, commonly found in Miata models.

This piston features JE's proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, saving weight. Depending on the specific application, it may also include a skirt coating to further reduce friction and wear on the cylinder walls, which also helps quiet down operation.
