Forged in the USA using 2618 aluminum, these JE Pistons are built for high-demand performance applications, offering the tensile strength needed for serious engine builds. This set is specifically designed for the Mitsubishi 4G63 engine found in the Evolution VII-IX models from 2001-2007, featuring a 3.346-inch bore and an inverted dome/dish design for an 8.50:1 compression ratio with a 22mm pin. The proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design helps minimize friction and power loss by reducing skirt width and using a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. An accumulator groove, depending on the application, can help reduce pressure from combustion gases, leading to better ring seal and consistent power delivery. Some applications may also include a skirt coating to further reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation.
