JE Pistons uses a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width. This design also saves weight with a shorter wrist pin. These pistons are forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material known for its high tensile strength, making it well-suited for high-demand performance engines. They are specifically designed for the Small Block Ford engine and the intended use application, aiming for optimized performance and durability. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also feature an accumulator groove to reduce combustion gas pressure, which helps prevent ring flutter and improves ring seal for consistent power. A skirt coating, also application-dependent, can further reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation.

This set includes eight pistons, each with a 4.030 inch bore, an inverted dome/dish design, a 1.724 inch compression distance, and a 0.927 inch pin.
